Lisa Cohn and her son, Michael, love school visits, in person, or via Skype in the classroom. They offer a “Write, Publish, Publicize an Award-Winning Book,” lesson, during which they explain that they wrote their books to keep the memory of their dog, Lucy, alive in their hearts. They focus on the importance of developing strong characters, using conflict in a story, and sharing work with others.
